Love isn't just a feeling. Love is a choice too. And you may not be able to help your feelings, but you are responsible for the choices you make about what todo with them.

I finally decided to read Holly Bourne’s It Only Happens in The Movies. And it was such a good decision!
First off, I love Audrey! Her tenacity, bravery to speak her mind even if it’s against the norm, her
honesty on the things she cares about, are all astounding! She isn’t the typical teenager who’s so eager to please everyone, to make the cute guy smitten or be the queen bee in their school. I love her view on love, her strong take on what’s real and what’s bullsh*t
There are also Audrey’s awesome friends like Loulou, Leroy and Alice. When you have friends who care for you, wish for your happiness, and doesn’t sugarcoat important stuff, you def should keep them! These bunch of people will make your life worth while.
But also, there’s the kind of people like Jessie and Rosie who you wish was never born or whom you’ve never met. These type of persons are like born for the sole reason of causing drama, making your life a living hell, or just plain stop you from getting your happiness. I belive they just wait till you are a wrecked person and then move on to their next target. I hope someday, people like these two will meet their match, and have a taste of their own medicine(or poison!)
And ofc there’s Harry. He’s fun, and cute, and really talented. But he’s really really naive! I hate how clueless he is, how dumb, how easy! I don’t want to generalize(coz I know there are a lot of great men out there) but he’s the kind of guy most girls are afraid of liking. Or the reason why most girls have sworn off falling in love. They say nice things, they make promises, and yet they do these things they say they didn’t wanted or didn’t know, but in fact they’re all aware of how hurtful it will be to you. It’s so easy for them to get anyone they wanted, but when the going gets tough, when it’s easier to move on, they’ll drop you like a sack and never look back(okay this bit is not Harry anymore lol!)
But all in all, HB really did a good job in writing this one. I like how she tells these important lessons, how she makes us fall in love with these characters. She’s like CoHo! Reiterating life lessons with, romance, humor and good characters!
Although I wished for a different ending, I believe it was already perfect.
My take on Audrey’s view on love being a feeling or a choice: LOVE IS BOTH A FEELING AND A CHOICE.
Feeling: You meet someone for the first time, you date and get to know each orher. Eventually you’ll fall in love.
Choice: 10 or 20 years from now, there will be challenges, issues, and you’ll come to a point where you’re faced with the question: should I stay or should I let go. This is where love being a choice comes in. Is it better to leave or is your partner worth it?
You do not just get to pick one. Love is both, it doesn’t exist without the other.
Till my next review!
