“In the future... if by some miracle you ever find yourself in the position to fall in love again... fall in love with me.”

Read: February 21,2018

Format: Paperback

Rating: 5/5

Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.— she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan — her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.

Lily hasn't always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up.

Colleen Hoover never fails to touch our lives with her works. Not necessarily in a romantic “love of my life” way, but there’s always something in her stories that touches her readers I love that this is a different style from all her works. Like what she said, this book is not necessarily to entertain but to educate.

This is the very first time I read past the epilogue, and it has really enlightened me so much. She really is a great writer, I love how every story, each character, all the twists and beautiful ending, stays with us a year, two, or for more years after reading it. One way or another, each of us will relate to some characters, will go or have gone through a life changing incident that will make us relate to her stories. And it’s not just because her protagonists are brave and strong, she makes them vulnerable, believable, realistic.

I love Lily and how she held on to her principles. I know a lot of people will blame her for her decisions but not me. I love that she sticked to her limit, that no matter how badly she wants to do the selfish thing, she prioritized her daughter and made the right decision. She’s so brave and strong, not all women will be able to do what she did. To let go of your happiness to protect your future, to let go of the past in order to move on, to just get on in life even when it hits you the hardest. I love that Lily wasn't afraid to admit to herself that she's afraid, or that she's still in love with him. She didn't hesitate to cry or forced herself to laugh, instead she took her time in making a decision. She didn't just consider her past, her family's history, she thought of her daughter, of their future, of what could possibly happen if she didn't make that decision. And for that, Lily just became the best mother to Emmy.

To be honest i’m so torn with Ryle and Atlas. Halfway through the book I kept thinking, “which one’s she gonna end up with??” Because both are handsome, wonderful, bright individuals. Both love fiercely, and both have been through tremendous life challenges. One was able to stand up and get back on their feet no matter what life gave him, the other just keep on pushing until he reached his goal. Both are the same, struggled in life and overwhelmed with traumatic experiences, but still brave and strong and conquered whatever demons they have. And yet both are so different from each other. One of them knows the importance of the one they love, knows how to take care of her, how to protect her. He knows her nightmares and would do everything to prevent them from happening. I adore this person, to have been through so much and yet he was able to grow into a wonderful and better person. I think Colleen did a pretty good job in creating 2 amazing men, and for not destroying anyone.

I love that ending. I think it was the best for everyone especially to Lily and I wouldn't have changed a single thing. And for title to be the ending of the book, my gosh it was perfect! I wish the epilogue was longer, I would have loved to read more of Atlas and Lily and Ryle!

I recommend this book to everyone. Not only to those who have been in the same situations, or to those who are just looking for a good read. No! I recommend that everyone would take time to grab this book. Because whatever happened to Lily and her mom, is likely to happen to anyone of us. This book is not the answer to your question if ever it happened to you, instead it will help you get through it. One would think that "Lily was able to do that, maybe I could too!" and maybe having an anchor, a helpful opinion, can mean a lot to a struggling person.

Have fun bellas!

Till my next review,
