Illuminae is one of the over-hyped, exciting, and famous YA books today. Reading over hyped books is such a challenge. You'll just never know what to expect. It's hard to keep a fair perception on the book when you've read a lot of good reviews, when you know a lot of people like it, a lot of readers are babbling about it. And I'm so glad that it is not a let down. I'm so glad it lived up to its hype, that it deserves every single praise ever directed to it. Every reader I know has pushed me on and on to read this wonderful book, and now I'm wondering why the hell did I wait this long.

It's mind-blowing and electrifying, every scene, every detail is exhilarating. You think you know what's gonna happen, but every page proves you wrong. You think you can predict the next turn of events, foresee who will die, but every scene will just blow up your predictions to dust! It's that amazing feeling when you're proven wrong and left dumbfounded!


My major issue when reading Illuminae was the technical terms and jargons, which were so hard to understand at first. It's kind of overwhelming but once you get the hang of it, you'll get used to the technicalities and complex terms. It took me a few chapters before finally understanding the scenarios and what's happening! Other than that, I'm speechless and in awe with the writing style, the wordings, the pacing of events, the way it was written and compiled into a book. Everything is perfect and I wouldn't have changed it any other way. Every twists and mystery are the perfect lead to the epic ending. It has such a captivating story, one you will never forget so easily, give up so easily. This series will surely blow our minds away!


I love that this book has the perfect amount of romance, comedy, action and drama. I think it's what will make you love the book. You're expecting action and betrayals, and yet you get so much more than that. I love Kady and Ezra. Gosh they're so brilliant, brave, and amazing teenagers. I'm such a hopeless romantic that a tiny amount of romance gets me giddy! I love that the characters have the strength to have fun despite the circumstances, to throw jokes and just be normal. I mourn every single character who died, every death, every civilian sacrificed for the greater good.


All in all, Illuminae was the coolest, most spectacular book I've read so far! No amount of praise is enough to express my awe and excitement!! To those who still haven't read this, well what are you waiting for? This is not the typical action novel, this is not your ordinary save the Earth kind of story. Just read it!! You won't regret it!!
